Foundations of Affordable Housing Property Management Series
Instructor: Jamila Burleson-Goshon
This five-part training series provides a practical foundation for affordable housing property management, focusing on how core programs, compliance requirements, and day-to-day operations fit together. Designed for new hires and cross-training, the series helps staff understand the why behind the rules so they can apply requirements correctly, reduce errors, and work more confidently across HUD, LIHTC, HOME, and layered properties.

Participants will learn how program rules, operational practices, and consistent documentation work together to support successful affordable housing communities.
Each 90-minute session builds essential knowledge and skills needed for consistent, compliant, and professional property management.

Part 5: Professional Skills for Affordable Housing Property Management
This session focuses on the professional skills needed to succeed on-site, including customer service, de-escalation, documentation, time management, and teamwork. Participants will also learn strategies to manage difficult situations, prevent burnout, and understand when issues should be escalated.
