Older adults with mental health conditions are a diverse population, most of whom want to continue residing in their community. Through various educational techniques, this comprehensive webinar will provide guidelines for supporting adults with mental health conditions who wish to continue living in the independent housing setting. Learn the steps to take to make sure your electronic files are done in a way that meets your needs. Wednesday, September 23rd 9:00-10:15am MDT Implicit Bias
Implicit Bias is the attitudes and stereotypes that influence judgment, decision-making and behavior in ways that are outside of our conscious awareness and/or control. Dr. Liz Redford with Project Implicit will begin this session with an interactive demonstration of perceptual, memory and judgment illusions that help illustrate that we do not have complete access to or control over our own minds. She will provide an explanation of implicit bias with an interactive group demonstration of an Implicit Association Test (IAT), the most widely-used measure of implicit bias. Next, research evidence for how implicit bias impacts organizational effectiveness is provided and followed by practical steps to manage implicit bias.
