| We have had many maintenance techs over the years at Property Management Inc, but none with the skills and expertise of Steve. His buildings are immaculate as he pays attention to every detail. He has increased REAC scores at his properties into the 90’s with his commitment and hard work. He is a mentor and helps all the staff. He is a team player and never complains about the challenging situations he faces. He is friendly but firm and has unending respect from his peers and tenants. He is a true gift to our company and the residents. |
Juan has been the maintenance tech at Community Housing Services for the past 4 years, covering 2 properties. The properties were built in the 80’s but you wouldn’t know by looking at them. He keeps everything looking pristine and is always willing to step in and lend a hand to other properties. He never keeps the tenants waiting and is always concerned with their well-being and checks in on them. They always speak of how wonderful and caring he is. His REAC scores are always excellent and he is beloved by the staff and tenants. |
Diane has been the on-site Manager for over 7 years, proficiently managing 123 Section 8 apartments. Her prior experience made her ideal to supervise a major apartment rehab. She is diligent in searching for quality materials at the best prices, and her efforts raised REAC scores from 75b to 91b in the most recent inspection. Diane skillfully handles HUD paperwork, tenant recertifications, leases, rent collections, and more, consistently achieving above-average MOR ratings. She manages challenges with a firm yet compassionate approach, earning deep respect from her tenants. Diane creates a welcoming office environment, organizes tenant events, and decorates for seasons to make residents feel at home. Even after knee surgery, she quickly returned to work, walking the long hallways as physical therapy. Her dedication, compassion, and positive spirit exemplify the heart of the Howard Bishop Award. |

He also oversaw a 96-unit rehabilitation project, ensuring minimal disruption through strong tenant relationships. Known for his proactive problem-solving, Lorenzo mentors staff, responds personally to emergencies, and supports colleagues when overstretched. Starting his career on site, he understands his team’s challenges and is committed to their success. The City of Wheat Ridge is a trailblazer in addressing the housing crisis in the Denver Metro Area. With the adoption of its first-ever Affordable Housing Strategy, the city has implemented key measures to expand housing options across income levels. In recent years, Wheat Ridge has launched homeless services, preserved affordable housing, and reformed codes and policies to encourage new development. These efforts have resulted in 150 households placed in stable housing, more than 200 units built or preserved, and policy changes enabling 50 new affordable units with more underway. The city employs both a homeless navigator and a housing navigator, who help residents overcome barriers, secure documents, cover deposits, and maintain stability with resources like move-in kits and referrals. Partnerships with businesses, law enforcement, nonprofits, and community members drive this work. Wheat Ridge’s innovation, land donations for affordable units, and long-term commitment make it a model partner and this year’s well-deserved award recipient. |
